About New Zealand Radiata Pine Wood:
Radiata Pine, better known as 'New Zealand Pine' is a softwood tree that contains many properties that make it very suitable for furniture and furniture making. It has a density equal to that of hardwoods like poplar, mahogany and oak. Its uniform density ensures a smooth and consistent texture and confers its excellent machining, painting and staining properties; there is almost no variation in color between pieces. Da Vinci's pine wood originates from forests maintained by managers that enforce environmental responsibility and the conservation of forest wildlife.

I put this crib together by myself when i was 7 months pregnant...I don't see how anyone had any problems with putting this together.
I've just lowered the bed since J is now 7 months old and it was super easy.
I love love it and it's so elegantly plain and not too fancy (we didnt find out the sex of our baby so it was perfect for either outcome)

It is a good stuff. I assembled easily except one part did not fit well.
So far, I am totally satisfied.

Excuse my typing. If there are any typo's, it's because I have Band-aids on 3 of my fingers. Why? Because I had to assemble this crib! From what I can tell, it's a very good quality crib and very sturdy. It's a nice addition to any newborn's room. However, I do have several complaints about the assembly process. They left out several steps (I had to figure it out on my own) and the drawings are far from accurate. I would not purchase this if you are not good with following directions and/or coming up with your own solutions to assemble things. After several hours and 3 bloody fingers, I had completed the assembly. I just hope I don't ever have to take it apart because I don't know if I will be able to put it back together!

We love the crib. It looks beautiful.. It is a sturdy crib yet narrow enough to fit into a small space which is a fantastic feature especially for apartment living in Manhattan. The bottom draw is fantastic. Drawbacks are it took 2 people to assemble, wood scratched on the headboard but I do not want to go to trouble to bring it back & I ordered the highest quality mattress u have (forget how many coils) but it makes it very difficult to change the sheet.. quite a struggle to fit on the standard crib sheets.
